Thursday, 5/20/2021:
Today is our last day of instruction! Yesterday, we reviewed how to submit academic papers to College Board. If you have not yet submitted your academic paper, the College Board deadline is TONIGHT by 11:59pm. Please be sure to have it submitted before then.
It has been a pleasure teaching all of my hardworking AP Research students. I wish the best for all of you in your future endeavors! Thank you for being so dedicated and understanding during a difficult school year!

Monday, 5/17/2021:
Students will be submitting their academic papers to College Board on Wednesday. They have the opportunity to make any necessary revisions during class on Monday & Tuesday prior to Wednesday's submission. Remember, the academic paper is 75% of each student's score (Presentation and Oral Defense - 25%).
Monday, 5/10/2021:
The Presentation & Oral Defense portion of this course has been completed. Students are now expected to complete their digital portfolio (Google Site) and revisions of the academic paper before submission to College Board. Students are strongly encouraged to peer review during class and offer constructive feedback.
Thursday, 4/29/2021:
We finished up our first week of presentations! We will continue presentations next week. Please note that students will have time to revise their academic paper after presentations conclude. Also, Google Sites are due 5/7.
Friday, 4/23/2021:
Students will be presenting next week for the Presentation & Oral Defense portion of this course. Students were given a Google Sheet to sign up for their presentation time slot. Students who do not sign up by the end of the day today will be assigned a day & time. Please remember, the Presentation & Oral Defense accounts for 25% of the AP Research score. Students should be practicing daily leading up to the presentation.

Thursday, 12/10/2020:
Students have submitted their completed Literature Review Outline. They are now transforming this outline into the Introduction & Lit. Review for the academic paper. This is the first writing piece for the academic paper. Students should also be prepared to discuss their proposed research with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to determine the ethics of their intended research.

Monday, 11/23/2020:
Today is a remote learning day for all students. To be marked present, students are required to login to Google Classroom and complete the posted assignment. We do not have classes the rest of the week for Thanksgiving Break. Happy Thanksgiving!
Reminder: We will return virtually for the week following Thanksgiving Break, 11/30- 12/4. All students will login to Google Meet for virtual class each day. We will continue with literature reviews and scheduling IRB meetings.

Monday, 11/16/2020:
All students were required to submit their Inquiry Proposal Forms no later than Friday, 11/13 by midnight. Students are now working on a brief presentation to communicate their research proposals to their classmates. Each student will create a Google Slide to accompany the presentation. This assignment is due Wednesday, 11/18.
Tuesday, 10/27/2020:
Students began working on the Inquiry Proposal Form during class today. This is an important step towards the academic paper. Students will work on this assignment in class; it is due 11/13. Additionally, students should continue communicating/establishing/meeting with their expert advisers.

Wednesday, 10/14/2020 - All Virtual Day:
Students conducted independent research today. Part of this research is to find at least two candidates for expert advisers. These individuals should be sent to Mrs. Wolos no later than Friday.
Note: Students are expected to copy Mrs. Wolos on all communications between student and adviser. Students must also keep track of meetings in the Expert Adviser Log (available in Google Classroom).

Tuesday, 10/06/2020:
Students are required to have 10 sources by Thursday, 10/8. Sources must be listed according to the student's appropriate citation style depending on the field of interest.
Monday, 9/28/2020:
Today is the last day in class for students to work on their first draft of their research question. Students should submit their question to the assignment in Google Classroom prior to tomorrow's class.

This is just a reminder that students are expected to check this website, Google Classroom, Remind, and student school emails. Important information is posted to these platforms frequently. Additionally, it is imperative that ALL students participate in class; this includes all virtual students. Students will begin losing points for lack of participation during class time. I ask that students at a minimum use their mics to participate. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Happy Thursday, everyone! I received the join code for everyone to login to College Board's website for our course. If you are unfamiliar or need a refresher on how to join, please see the attachment for step-by-step instructions. The join code for our course is KNJNK7 . Please send me a confirmation via Remind, or during class today for B day students, so I can make sure everyone is able to join successfully. Additionally, this will allow some database access for virtual students.
